The Amazing Corner Releases 3rd Edition Children’s
Book Catalog in time for Black History Month, Expanding
Access to Diverse Voices and SEL
Minority woman-owned business positions curated catalog as a practical literacy resource for schools, agencies, and community partners amid ongoing national literacy challenges
In recognition of Black History Month and at a time when schools and communities nationwide continue to confront persistent literacy gaps, The Amazing Corner, a minority woman-owned, for-profit children’s book retailer and literacy partner, has released the 3rd Edition of its curated children’s book catalog—an expanded, institution-focused resource designed to help organizations put engaging, culturally relevant books directly into the hands of young readers.
The new edition features new titles, new authors, a strong presence of Black women writers and creators, and an expanded selection of chapter books, while continuing to strengthen its focus on social-emotional learning (SEL). The catalog includes stories that support confidence, empathy, resilience, identity, and belonging—key drivers of both academic success and student engagement.
As schools, libraries, healthcare systems, housing authorities, and community organizations prepare Black History Month programming and year-round literacy initiatives, The Amazing Corner’s updated catalog is designed to function not just as a product list, but as a ready-to-use solution for culturally responsive education, family engagement, and community-based literacy efforts.
“Black History Month is not only about honoring the past—it’s about investing in the future,” said Tanerra Willis, founder of The Amazing Corner and a multi-time self-published author. “Our mission is to curate books that empower and stories that shine, so children can see themselves in what they read, stay engaged with learning, and build both academic and emotional strength. This catalog is one way we help institutions turn intention into impact.”
What’s New in the 3rd Edition:
- A broader collection of new titles and new authors
- A strong and intentional spotlight on Black women writers and creators
- Expanded chapter book selections to better serve older elementary readers - An even stronger emphasis on social-emotional learning (SEL) themes
- The inclusion of small business owner and entrepreneur advertisements, reflecting The Amazing Corner’s commitment to creating opportunities, access, and resources through community, collaboration, and connection
By integrating entrepreneur showcases alongside books, the catalog underscores a broader vision: supporting literacy while also uplifting small businesses and creatives who strengthen local communities and contribute to a more inclusive educational ecosystem.
The Amazing Corner works with schools, districts, healthcare systems, community agencies, and corporate partners to provide curated, bulk, and program-based book solutions that support literacy initiatives, culturally responsive instruction, and family and community engagement.
Guided by the message “Books that empower, and stories that shine,” The Amazing Corner exists to help authors, readers, and the larger community “Be Amazing.” The 3rd Edition catalog is now available to educational institutions, government and community agencies, and corporate and nonprofit partners seeking impactful, inclusive, and engaging reading resources for children—during Black History Month and throughout the year.
